3 Helpful Tips That Make Wearing High Heels More Comfortable

If you are anything like me, you like the lean, feminine, and sexy look you get when you put on those fabulous high heels.   Wearing high heels can sometimes be uncomfortable and I don’t know anyone who likes the pain that is associated with wearing heels.  Can you imagine high heels and comfort!   I would sleep in them!….(mild exaggeration).  But, you get the idea.  Here are 3 helpful tips to help make wearing high heels more comfortable:

1.  Try Inserts !

Cushion the part of your foot that receives the most pressure when wearing heels.  I carry them everywhere, and it can make a world of difference, especially on the ball of your foot.   Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles is designed specially for high heels.  Give them a try.

2.  Rub on a little deodorant

To prevent blisters on your feet when wearing high heels, rub some deodorant on the area most likely to slide or get blisters.  The deodorant will prevent your feet from sliding and therefore relieve pressure on the feet.

3.  Scotch Tape

Scotch Tape, (Tape together you third and fourth toe)….It takes the pressure off the balls of your feet  and make them much more steady.

Stilettos! What’s a Girl To Do?

Stilettos, what’s a girl to do?   Are they bad for your feet?

For most women, wearing stilettos tends to boost our confidence, helping us look and feel sexy.  By wearing high heels, you are forced to alter your posture. By doing this, your curves are emphasized.  High heels give a stylish look to the overall physical appearance of women.  Believe it or not there are some health benefits to wearing high heels such as increasing muscle use and giving women a better workout than walking in flats.  But there can be a downside to wearing high heels.   While wearing heels, our weight is redistributed, causing all our weight to be shifted on to the balls of our feet sometimes causing discomfort.  Some women find it difficult to walk in high heels, subjecting themselves to be of higher risk of a sprained ankle.   If this is the case, look for a thicker heel.  Try the shoes on and walk on more than one surface(ex. hardwood & carpet etc.)  Remember, insert’s are your friend…..try cushioned inserts where you need them.  Be sure to choose your shoes wisely. If you are not sure how long you are going to be on your feet, be wise, bring a pair of fold-able flats, switch them out when necessary!

3 Simple Home Remedies to Relieve Dry Feet

3 Simple Home Remedies to Relieve Dry Feet

Do you suffer from dry feet?  It’s that time of year when your feet need a little extra love and care.  Dry feet can creep up on you at any time of the year causing you to feel uncomfortable and insecure.   Turbo charge and condition those beautiful  tootsies with a few  inexpensive ingredients that you already have at home.

Here are 3 Simple home remedies to relieve dry feet:

Soak your feet

Create a soothing foot soak with Epsom Salts and warm water.  Epsom salt is loaded with magnesium, detoxifies,  soothe aches and soften rough skin.  Add 1/2 cup  of Epsom salt to a large pan of warm water. Soak feet for as long as you like.  Rinse and  moisturize while the feet are still damp.  Moisturize with a little Shea butter  or olive oil.   Add a little lavender or peppermint oil and off you go.

Exfoliation

Sugar scrub  is one of the  easiest  ways to exfoliate and repair dry skin.  Mix sugar ( brown sugar is my favorite),  olive oil and (optional) an essential oil  like lavender or peppermint.  Rub the sweet concoction all over your feet.  Be sure to give a little love and attention to the heels of your feet.  Rinse and rub in a little olive oil while feet are still damp.  Place a pair of socks to lock in the moisture.  Go to sleep and remove in the morning.

Moisturize

Head to your kitchen cabinet to find out out you had them all along.  The ingredients to naturally moisturize your dry, cracked feet. Rub a cotton round moistened with extra virgin olive oil all over your feet. Work the oil into the skin using a circular motion.  After applying the olive oil, slip on a pair of cozy cotton socks. This allows the oil to soak into your skin. Remove your  socks in about 2 hours.
