10 reasons to do a closet audit
Stop the presses!! Don’t add any more clothing to your already overflowing closet! In this case more does not always mean better. Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean you have to have it. Do you have a full closet and still have nothing to wear? Adding more items to your overflowing closet is still not solving the problem. Maybe you can’t find your special event pieces or just looking at your wardrobe seems overwhelming. It’s time for a new look and we all want to feel more confident.
Here are 10 reasons to do a closet audit:
1. You get overwhelmed when you look at your closet or even look for something to wear
2. You’ve accumulated stuff that you don’t currently wear (Have you worn in in a year)
3. Your closet is cluttered
4. Your wardrobe is not manageable and you are not sure what you own
5. You have pieces from your high school or college days ( that’s not cool, they are probably out dated)
6. Your career or lifestyle has changed
7. There is no room for something new
8. It’s time transition from warm to cold weather or cold to warm weather
9. People think you are older than what you really are
10. You continue to spend tons of money on wardrobe each year(with a professional audit you can save money)
A few things to consider when doing a closet purge or edit:
– Do the pieces fit or can it be altered
– Is it currently in style
– Are they in good condition
– Is the color and pattern complimentary to you
– Do you feel confident in this piece
– Are you truly going to wear it or is it taking up valuable real estate
*Tip: Give your nicer unwanted pieces to charity
