3 Simple Tips To Help You Feel Empowered

 




Have you ever had those moments when you have felt misunderstood? We all have moments more often than not when we feel disempowered.   You are not alone, there is nothing wrong with you! True empowerment means being authentic or true to yourself, even when the world teaches you to be someone else.   Here are 3 simple tips to help you to feel empowered:

 

1. Take the time to jot down your needs

 

Understanding your needs helps to bring a sense of relief and clarity in your life.  This relief can offer new positive emotional energy to fuel your positive direction in life and reduce your tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged. Ask yourself a few questions to help yourself determine your needs:

What are the weaknesses that I am aware of?

Identify your top 3 values (What values are most important to you?). This would be one’s judgment of what is important in life.

Ask yourself the question: Are you building your life around what’s important to you?

What strength and skills come up over and over again?

What skills have I practiced or mastered but could live without?

2. Set Goals

 

Setting attainable goals will help to keep you focused. Set goals both large and small. Setting goals will instantly help you to feel better about yourself and help you to choose where you want to go in life. When setting goals be sure to:

Align your goal with your purpose

Break your goal down into smaller measurable chunks that you can hit along the way to your big goal.

Reward yourself after each completing each goal.

 

3. Think positive thoughts

 

Think positive thoughts! Learn to recognize negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones.  Negative thoughts can shut your mind off to new opportunities to a world that you didn’t know existed.  Just know that the outcome of your day is the way you respond.  Besides positive thinking can actually improve our overall happiness. Try implementing a several of these positive actions daily:

 

Practice gratitude! Think of something you are grateful for the moment your eyes open each morning and before you get out of the bed. The fact that your eyes opened is a good place to start!

Read positive affirmation daily. You can also incorporate tools like podcast, videos and books. Write down a positive quote and take it to your computer. Go ahead implement this step immediately!

Talk to yourself in the mirror, even if you feel silly, tell yourself, “Today is going to be a great day!”

Smile! Smiling naturally makes you feel better and it’s contagious. Before you know it others will be smiling as well.

10 Simple Home Remedies to Diminish Dark Circles and Puffy Eyes

The presence of dark circles under your eyes can make you look tired and older. Don’t look tired even if you feel it!   Reducing the dark circles under your eyes can often be achieved with a few  simple home remedies. With a few of these easy steps you can learn how to minimize dark circles or puffy eyes:

1.  Get your beauty sleep!

Get plenty of sleep each night.

2.  Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day.

Yet another benefit of that daily chug of  the high quality h20 is dark circle reduction.

3.  Wrap a bag of frozen vegetables in a thin towel and place it over your eyes for 10 minutes.

It not only de-puffs, it rejuvenates and feels great!

4.  Eat well.

Eat a healthy balanced diet. Don’t forget to take your vitamins daily.

5.  Cucumber slices have long been used to reduce puffiness and refresh the appearance of skin around the eyes.

They also provide a fast “pick-me-up” for tired and puffy eyes.  Just a couple of ice cold slices on your eyes will help diminish puffiness and tighten and tone the under eye area.

6.  Chamomile tea bags.

Soak some chamomile tea bags in hot water, then rinse in cool water to create an eye-pack. Just putting these on your eyes for about 20 minutes will help reduce puffiness and can help diminish dark circles quickly, since chamomile has anti-inflammatory properties.

7.  Use a frozen spoon.

Put a spoon in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Take it out and cover the circles with it. Hold it there until the spoon is warm again.

8.  Lie down, close your eyes and apply potato slices to your lids.

Leave on for ten minutes and remove. Wash the area with cold water. This soothes tired eyes instantly, and helps boost blood circulation in the under-eye area.

9.  Drink a Gatorade or sports drink with electrolytes.

The electrolytes helps to deflate puffiness.

10.  Dip a washcloth in a bowl of cool caffeinated coffee.

Apply to area and leave on for ten minutes.  Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it draws water away.

 

**Tip: High salt intake, alcohol and drugs can adversely affect the quality of your sleep. Abstain from these products or use them only in moderation for best results.
