5 Tips To Consider When Wearing Horizontal Stripes

Do you avoid stripes?  Stripes tend to get a bad rap, especially the horizontal stripe clothing piece.  Stripes are timeless classic and just about anyone can wear them.  The horizontal stripe can be a statement piece, it just depends on how you style them. Horizontal stripes can add style and dimension to your outfit when worn properly. Here are 5 tips to consider when wearing the horizontal stripe:

1.  Thin stripes have a slimming effect.

2.  The wider the stripes, the wider and shorter that area will appear.

3.  Know what parts of your body you love best and those are the areas you want to accentuate.

4.  Look for silhouettes that are slimming to your figure. Does the garment shape flatter your body type?

5.  Break up the stripes with a cardigan, jacket or long necklace. This will breakup the widening effect.

Wear your horizontal stripes with confidence! Take ownership for your style and don’t care what others think. The right outfit can make you feel like you are unstoppable!

3 Ways To Layer A Sweater

Tracey Evelyn 3 ways to layer a sweater

Whether it is a cable knit, fisherman or a crewneck sweater, layering is all the rage!   A sweater covers the grounds for any occasion keeping you both warm and stylish.  Who wants to lug around a heavy coat? I don’t want to be cold either.  Being cold just throws your A game out the window.  With temperatures fluctuating and such unpredictable weather, sweaters have become the new go to piece. It’s a seasonal must have that you can wear without having to sacrifice your budget.  Here are 3 ways to layer a sweater:

1.  You can layer a sweater.

Layer your sweater over a plaid shirt don’t be afraid to pull up the collar.   Go for the oversized sweater and a pair of skinny jeans.  Feeling a little sassy? Switch out the skinny’s for a pencil skirt.

2.  Accessorize a sweater!

Pair it with a scarf or wrap it in place of a scarf. Be sure to wear a scarf in the same color family. If you get warm or not ready to put on your sweater just tie it around your waist. Add a little edge by completing the look with a biker jacket.

3.  Make it a statement piece!

Go for it, make it the piece that people notice first about your outfit. Be sure to layer it over top or of the same color family. That way you are sure your sweater gets the recognition it deserves.

Tip:

** Layering shouldn’t be bulky. Be sure that the bottom layer is fitted and skims the body.

3 Helpful Tips That Make Wearing High Heels More Comfortable

3 Helpful Tips That Make Wearing High Heels More Comfortable

If you are anything like me, you like the lean, feminine, and sexy look you get when you put on those fabulous high heels.   Wearing high heels can sometimes be uncomfortable and I don’t know anyone who likes the pain that is associated with wearing heels.  Can you imagine high heels and comfort!   I would sleep in them!….(mild exaggeration).  But, you get the idea.  Here are 3 helpful tips to help make wearing high heels more comfortable:

1.  Try Inserts !

Cushion the part of your foot that receives the most pressure when wearing heels.  I carry them everywhere, and it can make a world of difference, especially on the ball of your foot.   Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles is designed specially for high heels.  Give them a try.

2.  Rub on a little deodorant

To prevent blisters on your feet when wearing high heels, rub some deodorant on the area most likely to slide or get blisters.  The deodorant will prevent your feet from sliding and therefore relieve pressure on the feet.

3.  Scotch Tape

Scotch Tape, (Tape together you third and fourth toe)….It takes the pressure off the balls of your feet  and make them much more steady.
